Kerwood Kitchens

Bespoke Joinery

Some of our work is in steel and glass, but much is in wood.

And hand-made. We make kitchen units, dressers, larders, doors, windows whatever is needed in fact.

But please, don't think this automatically means out of the ark. In our business, built by hand doesn't mean artistic, rural, rough hewn and naïve, it means correctly made.

It is almost impossible these days to get a commercially produced hardwood door or window which is going to last more than a couple of years, because the frames are made with unseasoned timber and therefore they will rot.

So we make our own.

Seasoning timber takes time and costs, but no true cabinet maker or master joiner would use anything else.

Wherever sections are joined together, each must fit smoothly with scarcely a breath between the surfaces, something that is impossible to achieve with the fit-by-numbers components in general use.

Look too at the inside of our drawers and cupboards, each smooth and beautiful, and the way the cupboards and drawers and doors swing out effortlessly.
